Dear Neighbor,

Important notice for Manchester residents:

The last day the Mary Cheney Library Building will be open is Saturday, August 8th, 2026. Beginning Monday, August 10th, the building will be closed while materials are being moved to the new library building. The Grand Opening for the new Main Library will take place on Monday, September 14th at 10 am.

During this time, residents can continue to use the Whiton Branch Library, located at 100 N Main St, which will be open during normal hours. Stay up to date with announcements from the Manchester Public Library as they prepare for the opening for the new Main Library by checking their website at www.manchesterct.gov/Government/Departments/Library and the Manchester Public Library Facebook Page.

Advocating and fighting for support for local community services like the library has remained a top priority of mine since first elected. I have proudly worked alongside the Manchester Delegation to secure hundreds of thousands in funding for the Whiton Library in 2012 and millions in funding for the new Main Library in 2024.

This project has been a major investment in our community, and I am thrilled to see it completed over the next few months and for our community to enjoy the new library!

Make sure to look out for these emails, and follow me on Facebook for the latest Manchester updates. And remember if you or someone you know requires assistance, please feel free to contact me on my personal cell at (860) 335-2023 or email me at Geoff.Luxenberg@cga.ct.gov.

Sincerely,

Geoff Luxenberg
State Representative
