SBC Approves $2.43 Million for Optimus Heath Care Renovations

June 8, 2026

During the recent State Bond Commission meeting, the commission approved $2.43 million in funds to help Optimus Health Care with renovations at its East Main Street location in Bridgeport. This major investment will expand access to OB/GYN, pediatric, and dental care for patients in Bridgeport, Stratford, and the surrounding region.

This is a smart and worthwhile investment in community health infrastructure. Families in Stratford rely on Optimus, just as families in Bridgeport do, and this project will help ensure that important services remain available, accessible, and positioned to grow. Supporting projects like this means supporting better outcomes for patients and stronger systems of care for the region as a whole.

The renovations will improve safety, accessibility, and the long-term sustainability of the facility. The project is expected to support an additional OB-GYN clinical team and allow Optimus to serve approximately 1,500 additional patients annually, along with hundreds of additional pediatric and dental patients each year.

Optimus can move forward on a project that will strengthen care capacity at one of its key Bridgeport sites and help meet growing demand for women’s health, pediatric, and dental services. The investment comes during Optimus Health Care’s 50th anniversary year.
