We Delivered a Budget that Delivers for Stamford

June 4, 2026

After months of negotiation, we passed a bipartisan budget delivering results for communities across our state — especially Stamford. I'm proud to have helped secure more than $40 million in state funding for Stamford, including an additional $3 million in new funding since last year's budget.

This budget makes historic investments in education, housing, transportation, and municipal aid all while protecting Connecticut’s strong fiscal outlook and dedicating $1 billion toward paying down long-term debt.

This investment will strengthen classroom instruction, support students and educators, and provide more stability for Stamford Public Schools. It will also help the city maintain essential services, bolster public safety, improve infrastructure, ease pressure on local taxpayers, and help close critical gaps in school budgets and town finances.

Below, you will find a breakdown of the total town state funding coming to Stamford, including Education Cost Sharing, Town Aid Road, Municipal Grants-In-Aid, and more.

The budget also calls for nearly $10 million in other funding, including for our Fire Training School, Julia Stark Elementary School construction, and Youth Services Prevention.

Thank you to House Chair of the Finance Committee Rep. Maria Horn and House Chair of the Appropriations Committee Rep. Toni Walker for their leadership.
By working together, we delivered meaningful results that will help our city and state grow stronger, more stable, and better positioned for the future.

Connecticut residents made a call for help in many areas. Connecticut lawmakers heard it and answered in a strong, bipartisan way.
