Great news for New Britain! I am thrilled to share that the State Bond Commission approved an additional $5 million in funding for the drainage and flood mitigation project on Allen Street. This investment is a major win for Allen Street residents and the New Britain community as a whole.
Allen Street and the surrounding neighborhoods have dealt with severe flooding for too long. These residents have continued to advocate for this much-needed relief. I am proud to have worked with Mayor Sanchez to ensure improvements to the drainage and stormwater systems are a high-priority project and to secure this critical funding for our community.
With this funding, the City of New Britain can continue to move the project forward and make necessary upgrades to the stormwater drainage system. The drainage and flood mitigation project will address the unsafe conditions residents are faced with during heavy storms and improve the overall quality of life in this neighborhood.
I'm grateful for the combined effort from our state delegation, Mayor Sanchez, Governor Lamont, and the State Bond Commission for delivering this funding to New Britain to ensure this project can move forward and provide relief to our residents. |
