Dear Neighbor,
We’ve been busy! Below are a few updates of my legislative work in Hartford and New Haven.
First, I am pleased to announce that two New Haven based projects will receive Agricultural Enhancement Grant awards:
- CitySeed, Inc. has been awarded $49,999 for the marketing and promotion of local sourcing to New Haven Institutions
- New Haven Ecology Project has been awarded $30,650 for building capacity at Common Ground Urban Farm

Second, the Environment committee had a marathon public hearing on Friday. Most of the comments were about the proposed legislation concerning bottle redemption. Click here to read an article about the bill.
Next, many of you have reached out for an update about changes to Forest Road. This area has struggled with flooding during heavy rainfall. A few years ago, I secured state funding to address this issue. My office has contacted City Hall to ask for a progress report - I will provide an update once we hear back.
