As 2025 comes to a close, I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for allowing me to represent you in the Connecticut General Assembly.
It has been an honor and a gift to be able to do this work on your behalf. As we move forward together into 2026, may the days ahead bring healing, hope, and renewed purpose. I wish you happy holidays — however you celebrate — and a peaceful, healthy start to the year ahead.
Recognizing Community Members
Over the past week, I had a great opportunity to be out in the community with Representative Kate Farrar and Senator Matt Lesser, celebrating some truly deserving people and organizations here in Newington.
Each of these legislative citations was long overdue, and we wanted to be sure we recognized them before the new year for their outstanding contributions to our town. We honored the Newington Senior and Disabled Center as they mark 40 years of service to our residents — a milestone that reflects decades of dedication and care. I was also proud to recognize Newington Town Clerk James Krupienski after he was named the 2025 Town Clerk of the Year by the Connecticut Town Clerks Association. We wrapped up with a visit to Karma’s Closet to congratulate Deanna Reney on her new and expanded space this year — and I was happy to support a local maker by picking up a beautiful pen created by Newington resident John Hurst.
Moments like these are a great reminder of how fortunate we are to have so many committed public servants, nonprofits, small businesses, and local artists strengthening our community every day.
