Updates from State Rep. Farley Santos for Sept. 19, 2025

September 19, 2025

Join me today in pausing to honor the courage and sacrifice of those who were prisoners of war and those who are still missing in action.

As a legislator, and a fellow American, I carry deep gratitude for the families who live with uncertainty every day. Your strength reminds us of the cost of freedom and the promise we owe: to never forget.

Here in Connecticut, we join the nation in remembering the names, the stories, and the faces behind the uniform. Their absence is felt, their service remembered, and their return always hoped for.

To every Connecticut family who bears this burden: always remember that you are seen, you are honored, and we will always keep the light on.

Center for Comfort Care Anniversary

I was honored to celebrate 10 years of the Center for Comfort Care at Regional Hospice. Their work provides strength and compassion for families during life’s most difficult moments.

I’m proud to have partnered with Danbury’s legislative delegation to secure $1 million in state support for their pediatric services, ensuring this vital resource continues to serve our community.

Officer Sworn In

Welcome to Danbury, Officer Cotroneo! Another addition to our Police Department by Mayor Alves.

Third Space Unveiling

It was great to be at the Third Space unveiling at Roger’s Park! It's a creative community hub where connection, collaboration, and innovation thrive. Huge thanks to Lisa Scails, Councilman Ryan Hawley, and the whole team for bringing this vision to life!

Come explore and be part of something amazing!

Welcome Rev. Walters-Sleyton

Welcome to Rev. Dr. George Walters-Sleyton, the new pastor of Saint James AME Church and congratulations to the congregation as it celebrates 72 years of service to our community.

Thank You, Deacon Cabral

I had the privilege of honoring Deacon Jose Cabral, a man of deep faith who has guided me and so many others in Greater Danbury for more than 40 years. Deacon Cabral prepared me for my sacraments, baptized me, gave me my first communion, and stood with me at my confirmation. He helped make me a better Sunday School Teacher. His commitment has touched countless families through his wisdom, kindness, and service at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.

Thank you to the parishioners who came together to celebrate this remarkable servant of God. Deacon Cabral’s legacy is one of love, faith, and devotion, and our community is stronger because of him.

Steels and Wheels Car Show

The ninth annual Steels and Wheels Car Show at The Danbury Railway Museum did not disappoint, even on a rain date! Huge thanks to Carla and Mark Pierce and all the volunteers who pour their hearts into making this event such a success year after year.

I had the honor of presenting the Mayor’s Award to Ron Whitlock for their stunning 1934 Ford Roadster. What a ride!

Congratulations to all the winners!

And of course… the VW Beetle parked outside (not even part of the show) still stole my heart.

Sincerely,

Farley Santos
