January 15, 2025

As a member of the Education Committee we are already getting down to business this legislative session.  We will be addressing teacher shortages and retention and looking into more educational grants amongst other issues.

There is plenty to get to in the email below, so make sure to keep scrolling for more on:

  • Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA)
  • Community Events including the Legislative Town Hall

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance or VITA is a volunteer-supported program that helps people with household incomes of up to $68,000 annually file federal and state income tax preparation for FREE.

VITA is available in the Hartford, Tolland, and Windham areas.   Last year taxpayers were able to receive $28 million in refunds and credits due to the amazing group of volunteers.

On Wednesday, January 29, at 6:00P.M. you are invited to the East Hartford Legislative Town Hall at the East Hartford Town Council Chambers.

I along with the rest of the East Hartford delegation will be there to discuss the issues that matter to you most. Ask questions, share your thoughts, and listen to what others in the community have to say.

Your voice is important, and we want to hear from you!
