Funding for CT Rail Projects

Dear Neighbor,

Connecticut is ready to improve its railways after receiving approximately $291 million from the federal government. The money comes from President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Additionally, the Connecticut Department of Transportation will provide $120 million, and Amtrak will contribute $11.7 million to a number of rail projects across the state.

This game-changing investment will modernize our transportation system, making it more reliable while creating jobs and supporting economic growth. Track and rail improvements will give commuters more options to move around the state, shorten travel times, as well as reduce traffic and pollution statewide.

Native American Heritage Month is a time to honor and learn about the cultures, traditions, and histories of Indigenous peoples and celebrate their enduring legacies.
 
November is National Family Caregivers Month - a time to honor and support the caregivers who give so much to our families and communities. I'm sharing local resources to help lighten the load, from mental health support to financial assistance programs. Let’s ensure our caregivers get the care they need, too!
 
The City of Norwalk is excited to invite the community to our Holiday Extravaganza & Marketplace on Saturday, December 7th on from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM on 50 Washington Street! This event is free and open to the public.

This family-friendly celebration will include:

  • A tree Lighting ceremony at 6:00 PM.
  • Carousel rides
  • Indoor Holiday Marketplace: Shop at 25+ vendors offering unique crafts, homemade goods, and treats perfect for gifting.
  • A meet and greet with Santa Claus.
  •  Worldly holiday celebrations: Explore cultural traditions with activities like "Kwanzaa: A Celebration of African American Culture," featuring a special interactive performance by Ladies of Finesse.
  • Food trucks and live music.
