Election Day this year is Tuesday November 5 and for the first time in Connecticut history residents can take advantage of the state's new early voting law beginning Monday October 21.

Early voting is the result of 2023 legislation and a state Constitutional amendment overwhelmingly approved by Connecticut voters in 2022. Connecticut is the 47th state to adopt early voting.

Early voting provides all voters across the state with more flexibility and access to cast their votes, ensuring that your voice is heard and your civic duty is fulfilled while avoiding potentially long lines and challenging personal scheduling conflicts.

What you need to know:

Early in-person voting for the November 5 general election will take place between Monday October 21 through Sunday November 3.

Each town will have at least one early voting location, and municipalities with a population of 20,000 or more may have additional locations. You can find your early voting location on your municipality's website, at MyVote.ct.gov, or by calling the Secretary of the State's office at 860-509-6200.

On Election Day Tuesday November 5, all polling places in Connecticut will be open like normal from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Local election officials keep a record of every voter who has voted early, preventing them from voting early at any other location, submitting an absentee ballot, or voting on Election Day.
