Statement by Rep. Robin Comey RE: The Arrest of Three Suspects Connected to Violent Assault and Torture Incident in Branford:

“I just learned about a recent violent assault and torture in our community, and as the disturbing details of this horrific crime emerge, my prayers go out to the victim and their loved ones during this unthinkable time. I thank our Branford Police Department for their excellent work and the subsequent arrest of three young suspects who are being detained on a $1 million bond. Their swift and tireless efforts reassure us that the safety of our community is their top priority.

This appalling and heinous act violates the very foundation of the safe neighborhoods our residents should expect and deserve, and that law enforcement works so hard to provide.

Branford is a strong and resilient community, and while an isolated incident like this may bring fear and concern, I am confident that our local law enforcement officials are doing everything in their power to keep us all safe.

We must continue working together and standing united against violence to ensure that justice prevails.”
