Community Updates

June 14, 2024
I hope this message finds you well.

I just want to remind everyone that it's that time of the year again for my annual Lower Valley Job Fair! There will be more than 40 companies from a multitude of industries offering jobs with a variety of pay scales and work schedules. I'm happy to be partnering with Career Resources of the American Job Center, The Workplace, and the Connecticut Department of Labor to offer this free event to the community.

The Job Fair will be at the Ansonia High School gym on Wednesday, June 26, and will go from 10 am to 3 pm. This is an all ages event for people at all points in their career.

A wide range of employers, apprenticeship programs, and job training opportunities will be featured at this fair from diverse fields such as healthcare, transportation, social services, education, construction, banking, manufacturing, and more. Job offerings will range from entry level to advanced, and all who are interested in seeing their career options are encouraged to attend.

Special features include free headshots, information on various free apprenticeship and higher education programs, resume and interview coaching, free door prizes and snacks, and more.

Whether you’re looking for a job, an upgrade, or just to see what’s out there, this fair is for you. Don’t miss this one!

Thank you for Joining Dan King and Me
We had a GREAT turnout tonight for our listening and planning session regarding the $100,000 in state funds for Gatison Park!

A huge THANK YOU to every member of the community who came out and participated in the conversation. It is very helpful to have you in the conversation, this is your tax dollars and your neighborhood.

A special thanks to my co-host, Alder Dan King,

The Abundant Life Fellowship Ministries, and all who showed up tonight.

If you missed it but want to talk Gatison Park, be in touch. Next meeting tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, July 15th at 7pm. Will confirm soon!

Laws to Help Seniors & Child Care
It's important that we protect both our seniors and struggling families by making sure everyone has access to the proper resources they need. That's why I co-signed both HB 5001 and 5002, a priority for me throughout the 2024 session.

I want to give a special thanks to Governor Lamont for signing these important measures into law.
