My colleagues in the Connecticut General Assembly recognize the importance of men’s health. We passed legislation this year requiring the Department of Public Health to create a campaign promoting community-based screening and education for common diseases affecting high-risk male populations. This includes:
- colorectal cancer
- prostate cancer
- hypertension
- diabetes
- high cholesterol
- asthma
The Commissioner of Public Health must provide a report on the campaign annually to the Public Health Committee starting by January 1, 2025.
Remember to always attend your men’s health screenings and to get a check-up if you feel anything is off with your body. It could potentially save your life.
I hope to see you on Saturday at Fulton Park! |
