Dear Neighbor,
Memorial Day
Monday is Memorial Day, a day to remember and honor all whose bravery and service cost them the ultimate sacrifice. While this long weekend presents the opportunity to spend time with our loved ones, it is also a time to pause and reflect on those who gave their lives to protect and preserve our great nation and democracy. I also make sure to take the time to remind myself to live a life that is meaningful and worthy of the sacrifices so many have made. I hope you all have a safe and meaningful Memorial Day.

Veterans Tax Exemption Bill Signed
Great bill signed this week. Thank you to Office of Governor Ned Lamont this is one of the best bills we got through this 2024 session. Thank you also great work by the Finance Committee to help bring this to fruition. The bill, House Bill 5491, would exempt from property taxes the primary residences of veterans who are totally and permanently disabled as a result of active duty in the US military. This is a great example of actions speaking louder than words.
