CT Cannabis Social Equity Council and Community Foundation of Eastern CT Grants
This week I was had the great opportunity to see the CT Cannabis Social Equity Council and the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut give out $1 million in grants to causes based in Norwich, New London, and Willimantic.
These funds are part of the pilot program from the Social Equity Council, which distributed grants to entities in impacted communities and will help the Social Equity Council further distribute funds from the cannabis industry. Thank you to the Social Equity Council & Social Equity Council Director Ginnie-Rae Clay.
This week an overall $1 million from revenue generated by the state’s cannabis program and overseen by the Connecticut Social Equity Council was distributed by the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut. The community reinvestment program also focuses on reentry and reintegration programs that support formerly incarcerated individuals and their families.
