Today, the State Bond Commission met to approve bonding for numerous initiatives across our state. Among the awards was $1 million to the City of Stamford for the rehabilitation of the Stamford High School Athletic Fields.
The SHS athletic fields rehabilitation and improvement project encompasses the existing baseball field and softball field as well as open areas and various spectator walkways accessing Boyle Stadium and SHS athletic fields. The project will also allow for the addition of two regulation fields that can be used for soccer, lacrosse, and field hockey. The final designs will include paved, ADA-compliant pathways for both athletes and spectators to access all SHS athletic fields.
Our student-athletes should have access to quality playing fields and this funding will make that possible. Thank you to the Stamford Delegation, Governor Lamont, and State Bond Commission for supporting this investment in our school!
