New Elected State Representative Treneé McGee Sworn In
Democrat Treneé McGee, who won a three-way special election for the Connecticut General Assembly's 116th House District on Dec. 14, was sworn in Wednesday at the State Capitol.
The swearing-in ceremony took place in the House chamber.
"I am humbled and proud to serve residents of the 116th House District and to immediately start working on their behalf in Hartford," said McGee. "I also look forward to working with the West Haven delegation to make progress not only for our city each day, but for Connecticut as well."
McGee currently serves on the West Haven City Council and is a motivational speaker.
"I have been knocking on doors since August," McGee said. "I have a very supportive group of people behind me like my parents, State Senator Gary Winfield of New Haven and my fellow West Haven city councilor Robin Watt Hamilton who helped me as everything moved quickly when I answered this call to further serve my community, and the voters of the 116th District."
