COVID-19 Governor's Update

The Department of Economic and Community Development prepared guidance to Connecticut businesses for implementation of the governor’s executive order directing the statewide closure of all non-essential, in-person business functions effective 8PM on Monday, March 23.

  • Review the list of essential businesses HERE
  • If your business has not been deemed “essential,” you can apply for an exemption HERE
  • The deadline for filing state and federal personal income tax returns has been extended from April 15 to July 15, 2020

Key Points:

  • Since yesterday, an additional 104 Connecticut residents have tested positive, bringing the statewide total to 327. More than 3,600 tests have been conducted among the state and private labs to date. Approximately 51 people are hospitalized and there have been 8 deaths.
  • Governor Lamont is currently working on another executive order – his eleventh since the emergency declaration was made – that takes several additional actions. That executive order will be released Sunday evening.

The deadline for filing state and federal personal income tax returns has been extended from April 15 to July 15, 2020.                                                            

You can file any time before July 15 - and are encouraged to do so if you are owed a refund.
