Appreciating our Veterans for Memorial Day

May 23, 2024

As we head into Memorial Day weekend, I would like to highlight some great bills we recently passed honoring our veterans’ sacrifice and service to our country, and recognizing the need to support them when they return home.

I was pleased to vote for and see passed:

  • A bill to exempt members of the armed services with service-connected disabilities from property tax on their home or vehicle.
  • A resolution recognizing and honoring veterans of the Vietnam War who were exposed to Agent Orange.
  • A bill that helps service members and their families with expenses for essential personal or household goods or services.
  • Legislation to allow former reservists and their spouses to obtain a veteran license plate.

Serving in the armed forces is a unique sacrifice. I thank all the veterans in the 149th District and throughout Connecticut for their dedication to keeping us safe and protecting our democratic way of life.
As always, I am here to listen and help. If you have questions or ever need any help, please don't hesitate to reach out by phone, 860-240-8585 or 203-564-9516, or email Rachel.Khanna@cga.ct.gov.

Greenwich Legislative Breakfast

Thank you to all who joined us at the Greenwich Delegation’s legislative briefing.

Breakfast with the Greenwich Chamber of Commerce
Thank you to the Greenwich Chamber of Commerce’s co-chairs of the Government & Community Affairs Committee, Peter Carlson & Marguerite Vauclair,  for inviting us to their breakfast meeting on May 16. We had a great discussion on the bills we passed affecting Connecticut residents and businesses.
Greenwich Tree Survey

If you are a Greenwich resident, please take a moment to fill out this citizen survey with your thoughts on rules to protect against clear-cutting of trees. Trees are one of our town's most valuable natural resources.  Yet, they are threatened with excessive clear cutting by developers and residents. This survey is being administered by a grassroots group working on a proposed ordinance to protect mature trees on private property.

Thank you for your participation!
