Public Information Meeting Scheduled Regarding Rte. 44 Intersectional Improvements

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) will hold an in-person public information meeting concerning the conceptual improvements proposed at the intersection of U.S. Route 44 at Main St, High St, and Ely St in Hartford on September 24, at 6 p.m. in the Community Room at Wilson-Gray YMCA at 444 Albany Avenue in Hartford.

The meeting is being held to discuss the existing conditions of the intersection, to discuss the feasibility of proposed solutions, and to receive public feedback. For additional information, visit portal.ct.gov/DOTHartfordPP063-0015.

"The purpose of the project is to improve driver and pedestrian safety, as well as traffic operations, at the intersection of U.S. Route 44 at Main St, High St, and Ely St,” said CTDOT Project Manager Andrew Correia. “The proposed project is an early action recommendation from the Greater Hartford Mobility Study exploring ways to improve mobility within the Greater Hartford region.”

Right-of-way impacts are not anticipated. The proposed project is in the early stages of development. No funding has been identified and no schedule has been determined.
