Rep. Gresko pushes for tax exemptions for renewable energy sources
I was happy to speak with Energy News Network on a bill I am co-sponsoring that would revise and expand the property tax exemption for certain renewable energy sources.
For far too long now, Stratford (as well as many other towns and cities across Connecticut) has been dealing with lawsuits over whether solar companies that provide power for residential use are allowed to have a property tax exemption.
Since last year, we've been trying to pass legislation that answers that question and ends the many legal battles that are costing our communities thousands of dollars. I strongly believe this bill solves this problem and I hope we can get it passed during this session.
