Dear Neighbor,

New Years Eve is this Sunday. As you prepare to ring in the New Year, I wanted to remind you of the importance of safe driving. Holiday traffic can be stressful, especially if you are traveling to an unfamiliar area.

Motor vehicle accidents, particularly wrong-way crashes, have unfortunately become a more frequent occurrence. This issue is important to me -  my dear friend Melvin Wells was killed in a wrong way accident in 2019. During the 2023 session, I introduced legislation that was signed into law that will help prevent and reduce wrong-way accidents.

While on the road, make sure you do your part to keep everyone on the road safe. May your New Year celebrations be filled with the joy, peace and reflection. Have fun, be safe, and see you in 2024!
