Installation of Wrong Way Driver Countermeasure System, Route 8 South Torrington, Exit 45

The Connecticut Department of Transportation plans to install a Wrong Way Driver Countermeasure System on Route 8 South in Torrington at Exit 45.

This project is scheduled to occur on Tuesday, March 12, and be completed on Wednesday, March 13.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures on Exit 45 of Route 8 South in Torrington. Detour for ramp closure will be as follows: continuing on Route 8 southbound to exit 44, take exit 44 off ramp. Left onto Route 4 (East Elm Street) Turn left on to the Route 8 Northbound Exit 44 on-ramp. Take Exit 45 off ramp, left onto Kennedy Drive. Kennedy Drive runs into Service Road 800 (Winsted Road), End of Detour. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The night work schedule for this project is 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. (Monday through Friday)

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
