Good News for Connecticut
There's lots of good news coming from Connecticut recently. The legislature is working to attract and retain businesses that provide well-paying careers, and those efforts are paying off.
Here are some of the recent good news stories:
- Advanced manufacturing is a critical part of Connecticut's economy, and investment in the state’s Manufacturing Innovation Fund is creating new jobs.
- Aetna operations will stay in Hartford where it has been headquartered since 1853. This is great news, and an affirmation by Aetna’s new parent company CVS of Hartford’s stature as the insurance capital.
- Last year, 25,245 companies registered with the state - 500 more than in 2016. We must continue to find ways to encourage business growth in Connecticut.
- Biotech companies in Connecticut keep expanding, and we should continue to support this cutting-edge industry.
There's still plenty of work to do, and I will continue to champion efforts to make our state more attractive to businesses and promote economic growth.
