Our state has been devastated by Tropical Storm Isaias, causing over 700,000 power outages across Connecticut, prompting Governor Ned Lamont Wednesday to apply for an emergency declaration from the federal government. The declaration was approved and allows Connecticut to request direct federal assistance to bolster its response.

Bonding Approved for Branford's Connecticut Hospice

I’ve been working closely for more than a year with the leadership at Branford’s Connecticut Hospice Inc. for a request we made to the State Bond Commission. We got news that they will be receiving a $250,000 grant which will help with much-needed patient communications systems as well as infrastructure repairs. Their commitment and dedication to home and inpatient hospice care is remarkable. I am pleased to have supported this request and delighted to see it approved.

This year, more than ever, it is critical that every Connecticut resident responds to the Census. The most recent data shows Branford's self-response at 68.4% and the entire state at 64.9%. The Census counts every person living in the country – citizens, noncitizens and green-card holders.
