April 9: The Patient is U Day

View this email in your browser Dear Neighbor, Governor Lamont officially designated today, April 9, 2026, as The Patient Is U (TPIU) Day in Connecticut. As a legislator, social worker, and someone who really appreciates the meaning of this day, I was proud to host a press conference in support of TPIU, a non-profit public charity focused on improving the relationship between healthcare providers and patients, leading to better quality of care and decreasing healthcare costs.   Compassion is essential to healthcare. And today, I got personal in explaining the importance of TPIU, and the compassion I saw and felt for a loved one during a delicate time. There may come a time when you or a loved one may be a patient who could use compassion from those in the healthcare field.
