August 28, 2017I was honored to join my some of my colleagues and members of the legislature’s Black and Puerto Rican Caucus (BPRC), several community activists, clergy members, and state and local officials, at a Peace & Unity Rally speaking against hateful and bigoted speech that has become more and more concerning during the last few weeks.

The critical services providers offer to our special needs constituents is extraordinary and I will continue to fight for the protection of their state funding.
Groundbreaking for Borinqueneers Monument in New Britain
August 8, 2017I am pleased that after years of hard work, the much anticipated Borinqueneers Memorial is getting off the ground. I was proud to join my New Britain colleagues and several others for the groundbreaking ceremony. The 65th Infantry Puerto Rican regiment of the United States Army, known as the Borinqueneers, served in combat roles including World War I, World War II, and the Korean War, and has distinguished itself many times over the years.

House Approves Transportation Lock Box
June 6, 2017The House has passed House Joint Resolution 100, which calls for a statewide referendum asking voters to amend the State Constitution to ensure that money in the Special Transportation Fund (STF) is in a "lock box" and can be spent only on the state's transportation needs.
