Sober Living Homes Legislation Passes House

The problem of opioid addiction continues to grip the country and safe, substance free environments for those that suffer from substance abuse are indispensable. To continue our efforts, we passed sober living homes legislation, House Bill 5149, to provide those that are substance free and recovering an opportunity to gather in safe and easily identifiable homes certified through the National Alliance for Recovery Residences and registered with the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.

Chiquita Queen Restaurant Opening

It was a pleasure to join Martha Lojano and her son Kenny Buestan for the ceremonial opening of Chiquita Queen, a new Ecuadorian and Mexican restaurant at 215 Sawmill Road in West Haven. I presented them with a state citation on behalf of our legislative delegation to mark this joyous occasion. I was glad to join with my colleague Rep. DiMassa along with Louis Esposito, Jr., executive assistant to Mayor Rossi, Dorothy Chambrelli, Fred A. Messore, Carlos and Joey and Tom McCarthy with his son, Tom.
