Debating voting rights for individuals on parole

I am pleased to see SB 455, An Act Concerning Minority Teacher Recruitment and Retention passed the House of Representatives unanimously and now goes to the Governor for signing. This is bill has been one of the top priorities of the Black & Puerto Rican Caucus and I am excited to finally see this bill moving forward.

Dreamers’ bill passes the House

April 26, 2018

I am pleased to see that my colleagues finally agreed that undocumented CT students who pay a percentage of their tuition into the financial aid pool should get a share of this aid. Under current law undocumented students are excluded from receiving aid even though they have contributed. It is a fair, bipartisan solution.
