Robyn A. Porter

I am honored to have been accepted to the 2018 Robert J. Thompson Eastern Leadership Academy. The four-day program later this month will allow me to further develop my skills as a legislator and as your representative in Hartford.

The Academy, sponsored by the Council of State Governments’ Eastern Regional Conference, is being held at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. The program offers opportunities for participants like me to sharpen our leadership skills through interactive discussions with legislative peers from across the Northeast along with renowned faculty members from the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg School for Communication.
 
In addition to discussing policy issues focused on transportation, energy, the environment and criminal justice, the conference will also offer sound advice on our use of messaging to better communicate with our constituents. I also look forward to a seminar titled Pay it Forward for advice that will help us inspire change in our communities.
