Boosting our Craft Breweries

June 24, 2019

The Office of Governor Ned Lamont signed Public Act 19-24, An Act Streamlining the Liquor Control Act, that will allow locally-owned craft breweries in Connecticut to sell more of their products to customers for at-home consumption.

Connecticut has a booming craft beer industry and New London alone has ten such breweries, so it is about time we support products made in our state and level the playing field for these small businesses.

Under prior law, craft breweries in Connecticut were legally allowed to only sell up to nine liters (about 1 case of 12-ounce cans) to an individual over the age of 21 within a 24-hour period. This new law increases the limit to nine gallons, or about 4 cases of 12-ounce cans.
