Fuel Cell Bill Passes House

The House has passed HB 7036, An Act Promoting The Use Of Fuel Cells For Electric Distribution System Benefits And Reliability. This bill expands Connecticut's ability to use power from fuel cells. It allows electric companies to build and operate new fuel cell generation and authorizes the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) commissioner to solicit proposals from fuel cells to meet Connecticut's clean energy goals.

Fuel cells are both an important source of clean energy, and a growing industry in Connecticut, including FuelCell Energy right here in Danbury.
