Remembering Those We Lost on 9/11

September 12, 2016

Yesterday we came together to honor and remember the victims of the September 11 attacks at a memorial service in New London. I'm in awe of the strength of Mystic resident Paula Clifford Scott, who helped create the memorial garden at the Lyman Allyn Museum in memory of her daughter and granddaughter.

Paula lost both her daughter and granddaughter on Sept. 11, 2001 when the United Airlines jetliner they were on crashed into the World Trade Center's south tower. In 2002, the memorial garden at Lyman Allyn was dedicated to Paula's family and all the victims of September 11.

Paula  wisely encouraged us all to "have a grateful day" in honor of those lost. To read more about the ceremony, please see this great article from The Day.
