Rep. Bruce Morris applauded an announcement Tuesday that a coveted grant has been awarded to the Center for Contemporary Printmaking in Norwalk.

The center received the highly competitive Art Works grant from the National Endowment for the Arts in the amount of $15,000 to support the center’s work.

“This is great news for Norwalk. Arts and arts education play an important role in communities, and I am very happy that a Norwalk arts organization will be receiving this funding,” Rep. Bruce Morris said. “Everyone benefits from grants such as these.”

Founded in 1995, the Center for Contemporary Printmaking (a 501(c) (3) organization) was established to support and encourage serious emerging and professional artists in the creation of original prints and to educate the community to a better understanding and appreciation of prints and the process of printmaking. It offers both an historic and contemporary view of printmaking, encouraging traditional techniques as well as modern technologies.
