Renters' Rebate Program

December 5, 2017

The Office of Policy and Management (OPM) has announced that residents enrolled in the state’s Renters’ Rebate program will be receiving their checks within the next several days.

Renters’ Rebate was paused following the adoption of the biennial state budget on October 31 because changes to the program made it unworkable. We were able to adopt a fix that was signed by the Governor and the program is up and running again.

Over the past few business days, OPM and the Office of the State Comptroller have worked to expedite the process to begin running batches of Renters’ Rebate checks this week. In prior years, the state has waited until all checks were printed so they could be mailed out on the same day, but this year they will be sent out as soon as they are printed because of the unanticipated delays to the program.
