Groton Funding Approved

May 12, 2017

I am pleased to announce that the State Bonding Commission approved $15 million in funding for Groton Utilities.

The State Bond Commission approved this funding during a meeting on Friday, May 12th at 10:30a.m. in Room 1E of the LOB.

The funding will be used to assist Groton Utilities with water treatment plant upgrades and regional interconnections/consolidations with five Southeastern CT Water Authority public water systems.

This $15 million grant will be an enormous help to Groton’s public water system. The funding will be used to improve Groton Utilities’ effectiveness and productivity and I appreciate Governor Malloy's support.”

Groton Utilities is a municipally owned and operated utility providing Electric and Water services to thousands of consumers in Southeastern Connecticut.
