Gold Star Bridge Announcement

December 21, 2017

Due to ongoing repairs to the Gold Star Bridge, the Department of Transportation has announced that the Bridge Street entrance ramp to I-95 southbound in Groton will temporarily close beginning Friday, December 23, 2017.

The safety of our drivers is my top priority, and I will continue to work with the state DOT to make sure the disruption is minimal and that detour routes are established and posted prominently.

Alternate detour routes include the following:

  • Bridge Street traffic will be detoured to Long Hill Road, and then onto the I-95 southbound on-ramp.
  • North Street traffic will be detoured to Meridian Street, Brandegee Avenue, and then to the I-95 southbound on-ramp.

Please plan ahead before beginning your route. I appreciate your patience during this time and will continue to update you with any announcements concerning the Gold Star Bridge, including information about when the ramp reopens.
