Scanlon Supports Sikorsky Legislation

September 28, 2016

Rep. Sean Scanlon (D-Guilford) voted to support legislation that will keep Sikorsky, a major aircraft manufacturer based in Stratford, headquartered in Connecticut until 2032.

This deal is a major win for Connecticut when it comes to keeping and growing thousands of well-paying jobs and reaffirming our standing as America's leader when it comes to defense manufacturing. We have a lot of work left to do when it comes to creating jobs and improving our business climate but this deal coupled with the recent news that Pratt & Whitney and Electric Boat are expanding and hiring should be a signal that Connecticut is heading in the right direction, especially when it comes to our defense industry jobs.
