Protecting Transportation Service For Seniors

April 20, 2016

Residents of the Davenport-Dunbar Senior Residence reached out to Representative Michael D’Agostino after learning that they would be faced with a cut in transportation service provided by the Greater New Haven Transit District that is critical to them and that they rely on.

Rep. D’Agostino opposed the slashing of the service.

“These residents rely on this service as a link, literally to the outside world,” Rep. D’Agostino said. “They cannot use a regular bus but need paratransit services and that’s what was being provided."

Hamden’s mayor has stepped in to provide a senior bus service, but that service will have certain limitations.
