Time To Work On Governor's Budget Plan

February 22, 2019

Dear Neighbor,

The budget presentation is one of the most anticipated events at the State Capitol and Governor Lamont gave his Biennial Budget Address during the General Assembly Joint Session on Wednesday. You can read it here.

This legislative package outlines the Governor’s ideas, visions, and direction for the state. Now it’s up to the legislature to review and deliberate the document to incorporate agreements and compromises that will allow for a crafting of a budget document that addresses our concerns and has enough support to pass.

Over the next few weeks, I will be working with my colleagues to ask the administration and state agencies about the Governor’s budget proposal. And as the legislative process gets underway, I plan to keep you informed as we make progress and will let you know the various ways that you can participate.

A good budget reflects the values of our state. Help me to craft a final product that we can all be proud of. I can be reached at Catherine.Abercrombie@cga.ct.gov or by calling 860-240-0493.
