Lawmakers announce approval of funding for new Columbus Commons housing construction

Members of the New Britain legislative delegation announce the approval of funding for a mixed-use property in the vacant lot that used to hold New Britain's old police station. The new building, which will be called "Columbus Commons," will include commercial space for retail, office space and restaurants, along with 80 new housing units.

These two organizations play a vital role in promoting the arts in the community and enriching each citizen’s life. Newington Receives Flood Control, Housing Improvement Grants

Newington continues to be a priority in Hartford with $2.4 million to address housing that has gone into disrepair and that affects the quality of life for all. Flooding has been a problem for far too long and, with $1.5 million in funding, measures will be implemented to help mitigate the ongoing damage that flooding can cause. I thank Governor Malloy for his support of these much needed funds.
