Applications for the Child Tax Payments are now open!

Certainly a difficult session this year. Nevertheless, we lowered taxes and passed landmark legislation protecting CT residents' privacy and reproductive rights, as well as adjusting to life with COVID.

Some other good news for Hamden this session – the passage of SB 488, An Act Amending A Conveyance Of State Land To The Town Of Hamden.

Late last night, while we were voting on the CT State Budget, a draft opinion revealing the Supreme Court's upcoming ruling to strike down Roe v. Wade leaked to the public.

The State Budget we just passed in the House contains $600 million in total tax relief for all of us, including child tax credits, a 100% exemption on retirement income, a cap on car taxes, increases to the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), and a continued suspension of the gas tax.

Nationwide, states have experienced a surge in catalytic converter thefts. Today, my House colleagues and I sent legislation to the governor that works to curb these thefts by eliminating the market for these parts.

Earlier today, I lead the debate on our Data Privacy Bill in the House of Representatives. When this becomes law, it will protect you and your right to keep your data, and your children's data, private.

Wednesday night, I joined Hamden Public School (HPS) members to celebrate the opening of a new Pre-K classroom and Ridge Hill School.
